The first step to successful co-parenting is to keep in mind that although your relationship with your ex has changed, and there are now new rules,  you will always be in a relationship! Remember that everything you do, whether you agree with one another or not, should be based on what is in the best interest of your children.  The best gift you can give your children after a divorce is the knowledge that they do not have to choose one parent over the other. You can do this by providing them private time with each of you, without them feeling they are betraying you or your spouse. It’s  important to reassure them that both of you love them AND it is still okay to love both of you.
